Tattoo Aftercare
01.
Saniderm
A piece of saniderm will be applied over your tattoo and must be left on for 4-5 days.
Saniderm is a clear plastic-like bandaid that sticks flat to your skin.
02.
Avoid
While the wrap is on you may shower, but you must avoid submerging your wrap in water. No soaking such as; no hot tubs, no pools, and no baths.
Also avoid heavy cardio for a few days to prevent sweating and the buildup of bacteria underneath your wrap.
03.
Moisturize
After day 5 take off the saniderm wrap and apply a unscented lotion 2x daily for a month.
04.
Preserve your artwork
From here on out to help preserve your artwork you may apply sunscreen and continue moisturizing your tattoos daily.
Before Your Appointment
01.
There's a few things you need to know that will help make your appointment go more smoothly!
EAT & DRINK: First things first, make sure to EAT and HYDRATE before your tattoo appointment! It's really important you don't come on an empty stomach. Your body won't have the energy it needs!
MOISTURIZE: Make sure to moisturize your skin everyday prior to your appointment! It makes it so much easier for the artist and it's good to do anyways! Your skin will thank you later. I also can completely tell which clients are moisturizing everyday!
THINGS TO AVOID:
- sunburn/too much sun exposure
- spray tans
- cuts/scars (make artist aware if they are fresh or been there less than 1 year)
During Your Appointment
02.
Bring snacks and water!
Headphones are welcome!
For all day sessions plan on brining a lunch or ordering food! You'll need it!
If you want to bring a blanket or pillow so you're more comfortable feel free to do so! It also can get a bit cold in the studio!
CLOTHES MATTER
COLOR
WEAR BLACK.
PLEASE do not be that person that wears white. As artists we value your clothes and do not want to ruin them! We do our best to keep everything clean, but from time to time the ink can spray or drip. If ink gets on your clothes it will permanently stain it!
So please, WEAR BLACK and wear something you don't care about!
COMFORT
Avoid wearing clothes that are tight and restrict the artist from accessing wear they need to. Loose fitting clothing make it easier for the artist.
WHAT TO WEAR
Button ups and zip up sweatshirts are best for back tattoos and sternum tattoos! For sternum tattoos I recommend buying pasties for the ladies! For hip pieces a bathing suit bottom with straps that can untie are easiest! Sweatpants, shorts, and skirts are also good go to's!
