This guide will go over tips, color schemes, Pinterest mood boards, and some examples to look at. I have included some images but some of this is a bit wordy, hang in there with me!

At the end of the day, this is your session so take the advice as it fits you. Totally apply what works for you. I understand everyone's style is different and you may have your own vision. If you want to go against this guide that's fine, do you!!

Tips

LOOK LIKE YOURSELF

My biggest piece of advice for choosing what

to wear for your session is to dress the way you usually do. I want you to feel comfortable and confident, and the best way to do that is to wear clothes you feel great in.

STAY COMFY

Those really cute jeans that make your butt look great but cut off your circulation? They’re great at first, but it won’t take long before you’re in pain and wishing the shoot was over.

Movement in photos is your friend, and it adds so much magic and genuine-ness to your photos. So find clothes that let you move

THE PATTERNS

Tight, low contrast patterns are

your friend. Big, chunky patterns are distracting, so keep it subtle. Again – make your faces the center of attention. And don’t forget to iron your clothes, because, you guessed it, wrinkles are distracting.

ADD ACCESSORIES

Be selective. It's great to add accessories! A cute felt fedora hat or some jewelry always adds some spice to the outfit. Be careful wearing chunky jewelry as it becomes too distracting.

Color Schemes explained...

Less is more

I always, always recommend neutral, earthy tones when picking out what to wear. That doesn’t necessarily mean gray and beige. “Neutral” includes mustard yellow, forest green, navy blue, burnt orange, etc. Just think muted colors that don’t distract from your sexy faces. Once you pick a location for your session, I'll be able to give you tips on which colors work best with that specific spot. My personal favorite colors to work with are black, white, burnt orange, and dusty rose!

FAQ

What if I can't decide what to wear?

Bring it all! I can help you choose at our session. It's always better to have options.

What props should I bring?

Make this session authentic, unique, and stand out by simply bringing a prop! It might be bringing flowers if you love that, a guitar, violin, ballet shoes, or whatever you're passionate about!

Can I bring a friend/dog?

Yes! I love animals and will always encourage it. Totally bring your bestie if that helps your story telling for your senior experience.
